Why are most UK shopping centres named after saints? Jan 2, 2010
Posted by admin | Under UncategorizedWhat is saintly about a shopping centre? I am an atheist so I don’t have a religious objection, I just find it annoying that every city I visit has a St Whatever’s full of identikit shoe shops and cellphone stores.

I don’t think Queen St shopping centre would agree on that one, ask old Lizzy the monarch, she would fart in your face for that one you blasphemer!!!

That’s the only right thing to do. Such Saints lived their lives to please God. Give honour to whom honour is due.

Funny. I don’t recall hearing of "St. Bluewater". Or "St. Westfield London".
I’d agree about the contents of the shopping centres though. It’s like there’s only 4 possible stores in all of the UK, and the centres just alternate them with different names.
